This blog will be about my journey to becoming a full stack web developer! I hope! Ha! And also, you will occasionally get some random thoughts, meme’s and cool stuff that I find interesting.
My Life Story:
The journey started in the year 2000 when I was about 11/12 years old. My friend introduced me Visual Basic 6. I first discovered coding and it was really interesting and fun. After school every day, I start coding in VB and making my own apps. Also created websites using Geocities and Angelfire web hosts (Back in the old days). In high school years, I started experimenting WordPress on my own server, localhost. Trying MySQL, PHP and creating forums and blogging (Blogspot at the time, now Blogger). The IT geek in the family by building and fixing computers. The family network guy to go to. I setup, troubleshoot and improve the family network at home. High school was almost over and needed to apply for university. I originally wanted to do Computer Science but found out that a family friend couldn’t find a job and worked in a retail store. That scared me and put me off a bit. The IT industry wasn’t booming at the time hence I choose the Engineering side.
Engineering was booming and so decided to choose Electrical Engineering. Stopped programming altogether and focus on studying Engineering. Went to college to get Practical Experience and studied Electrical Engineering. 4 to 5 years later, exposed to programming. Did a unit on Advanced Programming, the language was C++ and got a grade HD. After I graduated, I worked for a bit and went back to University. After 3 years, exposed to programming again which was Language C for a unit called Embedded Software Engineering 202. I wasn’t really fond of C. Didn’t really like it.
During my University days, I was working for an Engineering company doing IT Support. I loved it there. I was providing technical support for the staff ranging up to 100+ staff whole state of Australia. I was doing laptop and PC upgrades. Accomplished migrating 100+ staff from Windows XP to Windows 7. Did a bit of server maintenance, backups and Fire Engineering Simulation mesh cloud systems. That was really fun.
Another 5 years later, I needed to write a macro script in Excel at work. I had so much fun cos I knew VB in the past. VBA was quite similar. After realisation, I knew I loved programming and want to get back into it. So…I am in the middle of a career change. My aim is to become a Full Stack Web Developer. So now, here I am. Slowly and trying to get back into coding and the IT industry.
